Masoala Peninsula
Masoala, Madgaskar, regenwoud, jungle, trektocht
The Masoala Peninsula on the eastcoast of Madagascar harbours the largest (fairly) intact rainforest of Madagascar. It is sparsely inhabited and there are hardly any roads. The photo's are taken on a trek down the coast from Antalaha to Cap Masoala and then through the jungle to Masoala Forest Lodge on the west side of the peninsula. We hired local guides to find our way through the jungle and they had a hard time finding their way... The last part we traveled by open dug-out to a place called XXX. There we got on a small freight ship to Maroantsetra a larger town on the other side of Masoala Bay.
